I've paid for some social bookmarking services but I am not sure yet whether or not it's worth it.
I paid for it a few months back and so far haven't really seen any results. I don't think I'll be using it again..
A better investment would definitely be manual directory submission or something of the sort - way better backlinks, for me at least.
