Lightbulb AdWords and Landing Pages

I heard that for Google AdWords, you really should optimize your landing pages for search engine optimization for higher rankings within the advertisements.

Is this true?
I think I may test this out..

It is true. If you simply get a new domain and upload some image kinda page on it and run a campaign , u will end up being so called Google Slapped

What is "Google slapped"? I've never heard of this term...what does it mean?
Does it mean put in Google's sandbox or what?

I think it has to do with your quality score and adwords performance. Better QS are generally ran higher on adwords. Kind of like keyword spamming and such. If you want your ad to run, create a good landing page for Google. Appropriate content matching your keywords, description, ect. Just a .com with no content, but a click here button will be shunned by google.
