I'm not sure about what kind of business would be appropriate here? Would I be able to learn ways of earning money by opening a business both online and let's say opening a store?

I'm really interested in book sales but I don't want to own a store but was thinking about selling online. Possibly opening a website or maybe a store on Ebay which I really don't want to do.

I think I'm a tad confused now but I need to learn about so many things and I think this site is the best place for me.

I think this site will mostly be dealing with affiliate marketing. And I think it's online, but I think the concepts can also be useful to an offline business as well.

If you want to sell books, but you don't want to open a store, then selling ebooks is the way to go. ebay doesn't allow digital items anymore so you will have to set up a website to do this, most of the process can be automated.

eBooks don't convert that well in my experience. Are you selling eBooks or physical books?
The market is quite saturated. Are you an author or a reseller?

I personally think this is because so many ebooks have been written with the intention of making a fast buck, and the ones which contain useful information are few and far between.

If you have good ebooks which relate to the content of your site, I still think that they will sell.

Have you thought about BANS? Build A Niche Store. Basically you buy this BANS script for about $37. Then you buy a domain and hosting, if you use 1&1 they cost about $5 a month with 2 free domains. Basically the BANS script allows you to select a category, books,movies,cars,womens clothes,ect. Then in the middle page of your site, it shows an ebay listing of those items, as well as the bid and time left. If someone buys the product off ebay through your site, you get commission. I also think you get a really good chunk of change if they are new and sign up for ebay, then buys.

With SEO practices, and advertising on the right sights, you may be able to get an okay amount of sales. I would say after you have made the first few sales, venture into Adwords of something and push your site hard. Some people make a few grand a month off their BANS site.
