Just Started Affiliate Marketing ? Read This !

Hello Friends,

I thought to make this post for new people who have just started affiliate marketing. Want to tell them about certain things which they need to know before they move ahead with it.

1. Never purchase any "Make Money Online" ebook which teaches you how to become millionaire overnight. They will not help any ways. If you don't believe me then go ahead and do it. Realize your mistakes after 6 months. All such books have out dated strategies which don't work.

2. You always have to keep in mind that "Technologies Change Fast" and hence "Your strategy should change accordingly". Adwords and other PPC search engines keep changing their algorithms. So what works today may not work tomorrow. You have to keep constant pace with the changes.

3. Its not that PPC doesnt work and SEO works or PPC works and SEO / SMM doesnt work. Its all about matching right program to the right method. SEO could be a good strategy for one kind of affiliate program whereas PPC could be better one for the other affiliate program. Similar debate between search network and content network also. One program could work well on search network while the other can work well on content network too. Its about using analytical skills to spot the right combination of affiliate program - promotion method and doing trial and errors.

4. Are you playing with PPC for the first time ? Be ready to loose some money !! Unless you have an expert hand holding (no expert actually gives out his core tricks, they will just tell you common thing). To know the PPC programs properly, you need to work at it for long.

Very good tips here. I have lost some money but I wouldn't say it was a lot in my quest to learn affiliate marketing. Even though I have spend a few dollars I have learnt valuable lesons, especially the first one you mentioned. There are lots of free info on net, many of which are helpful.

I have seen articles and invitations to do PPC but I am still not comfortable with the idea. I know it's making some persons millionaires,but one of my philosophy is, in order for one person to make money online, another person has to give it, so these millionaires become what they are because are ready to spend money to get rich.

Your tips are wonderful. My friend bought one of those ebooks. She actually tried to get me to read it telling me that all my financial problems will be over because of all the money I'll make.

Well, I didn't read it and even though she swore by this book she hasn't made a cent. I think she might have lost money since she stopped pushing the book on me after a month. But I do know that she lost the money she spent on the book.

Why do people believe in get rich schemes? I know they want to make money fast but how can they believe that something like that could actually happen?

Agreed. There's no easy way to make a fortune. If there were, everyone would be doing it and we'd all be millionaires! I personally don't think you can go into any sort of affiliate scheme with the intention of making a fortune. Perhaps you'll do so in the long term, but the people who do are few and far between.

I am new here, and in the middle of affiliate marketing. I am at the point of balancing my outgoing to incoming money. I would say that I have made all the money back that I have spent, but am not yet turning 20 in to $200. Hopefully with this smaller community, there can be some nice tricks and information shared.
